I am guessing the parents of these children probably love music and wanted that reflected in their childrens names. Those would be hard names to grow up with though I must admit.

I think the name Makiah (Pronounced Mu- Ki`-Uh) is a wonderful boys name and I think the names Henrietta, and Laveta are names that would be hard for girls to have.

I had a friend named Constant Delight...her real name..and it generated much ridicule from boys...'cause they always wanted to know about her "delights"...but it also seemed to make her a very joyful spirit...and she lived up to her name. I have difficulty with names that do not indicate gender (not their fault, I might add). I have discovered that names will often generate a part of who you are...and I urge parents to take this into consideration when naming their child. Get a book on name derivatives and what they might mean...it will often provide additional insight into someone close to you. I also knew someone who was oriental and his name was Ho Well (not sure of his spelling) Hung. He finally went to court to have it legally changed to an American name...and I don't have to explain to you his reason for it!

I work in a school, and we have all sorts of wacko names. One name that always sort of cracked me up is Female -- pronouced Fee-Mal-EE. The mom only spoke Spanish and when she had her baby in America she thought the hospital named her daughter because a paper she received said Female and then her last name. I swear this is true.

I have two friends whose names are Storm and Starr! I think that's pretty cool. One of the ugliest names I've ever heard was Abra...for a girl...I can't even begin to imagine the jokes...
