...they should at least tell us where they are from so we can compare political systems and leaders?
I would just like to know if some shepherd living in a hut under the rule of some warlord while is family starves is critiquing the USA. Instead of telling us what is WRONG with us, why don't they tell us what is RIGHT about them.

I am not saying that people aren't welcome to voice their opinions, but it does seem like pot shots from the dark when they don't idenfiy themselves further.
Names don't always indicate anything. I, for example, am not Irish...
Lots of poor people have access to computers...from all over the world. It wouldn't shock me to know that a free computer wasn't given by a charity in the USA to some solitary village somewhere. It is the kind of think you hear all the time on NPR.

Many people from other countries can't criticize their own government or country, so they enjoy hearing us bash ours and want to help us put the nails in our coffin lid.
To Owen the Kiwi- Why does everyone keep asking the U.S to police everything? Everytime there is a crisis in the world people run to the US with their hands out and then laugh and criticize us for being involved! Why don't some of the other world leaders step up and give aid and and reach out to other countries in need?

What does it matter what country they're from? Everyone has the right to voice an opinion on the US whether or not they live there. I think other nations criticize the states because sometimes America's actions directly affect non Americans. Therefore giving these people every right to criticize no matter what country they're from. You just want to be able to put down other countries to try to save face but that's weak. If you want to cut up the "shepherd living in a hut" that's fine but I doubt his leader is making decisions that can negatively affect the world.

Why are you so sensitive to criticism? A good democracy is based on healthy debate, both from within and without. Sometimes it's easier for outsiders to see what's right and wrong about another country. I'm from Australia and New Zealand and I am active in criticizing wrongs I see in the world, no matter if it's where I live or elsewhere. It's every persons' democratic duty to protect free speech and democracy. The US is certainly actively eroding both under the banner of the "War on Terror". The whole world is concerned that you are becoming a military dictatorship. No one wants that.

I critisize Bush, and the apathy and ignorance of Americans all the time.
I'm from America. Does that help?
I doubt that a shepherd living in a hut has access to the internet, especially if his family is starving. The ignorance of that comment was great though..I appreciate you proving the point I made at the beginning of this answer.

I'm from New Zealand & very proud of the fact.
What gives the USA the right to act as Police for the World? Time to back up & go home. Then the soldiers could build a fence along the Mexico border to protect your own country.
Every country has the right to make their own decisions. The United Nations is there to act as a neutral body.

I'm sure everyone of those shepherds have the latest lap tops. Not!
Read more answers and pay attention to what is going on. You can hardly fail to notice that comments on answers are from all over the world.
We may very rich and the most powerful, but we cannot go on indefinitely disregarding the whole world. It's larger than you think. And we are not much more important to our government than that shepherd. Just more vocal and with letters like yours, we appear smug and ignorant as in deed, some of us are.

Most of those posts are trolls living right here in the USA pretending to be from another country. Haven't you noticed, everyone who does that is also super rich, owns 7 hummers, and is the best looking? Oh ya, the Guys who post as women make me laugh as well.. Too obvious.

Because this would open them up to the same criticism they are tossing out. Who wants to play fair when they are attempting to feel better about themselves by bashing others? This is why I leave my contact option open, so they can shoot me an email at any time, lol. Only two people have thus far though :-(

The name of the guy you're making allusion to is "IndiaMan".
Not difficult to deduct that he lives in India...
What is RIGHT about us ? Hmmm... we disobeyed to Uncle Sam and refused to let us take off in a war in Iraq that we found unjustified and unjust.
What is WRONG about us ? We obeyed to Uncle Sam and abandonned Lebanon.
