This country is stupid enough for allowing him to serve two terms. If he is "elected" a third term, I'll pack my grandma's and my things and we'll go with you.
How many civil liberties are we willing to lose?

There were rumors about that during Bill Clinton's second term. It is all crap.

After FDR served four terms as President, Congress wrote the 22nd Amendment. This amendment was passed by Congress on March 21, 1947; and ratified February 27, 1951. It states that no president can be elected to more than 2 terms of office.

As part of the Constitution, it will take far more than a simple law to override.

I have heard this too a couple years ago. He could use the guise that a nation in a war should allow the reigning president to continue in power. He is taking our rights away one by one. Wiretapping, limiting class action suits against big corperations who do harm. He is dividing us into many small groups. One against the other. Divide and conquer. And it is all in the name of national security. Religion vs. Religion, Reps vs. Dems, gays vs. straight, rich vs. poor, citizen vs. illegals, conservative vs. liberal. He sounds more and more like a dictator from years past. We don't have to move from this country it is our home land, we may need to defend, and restore her integrity. I don't want to be alone. To those who think he can't, he's changing the Constitution to serve his agenda, so he is well within the realm of the possibility to changing term limits. Don't ignore the likelyhood.

Something like that would require a repeal of the 22nd Amendment, which would itself require a supermajority in both houses and a supermajority of State legislatures for ratification. It's incredibly unlikely that any such proposed amendment would get that kind of support, so I don't think you've got to start packing any time soon.

He probably wants to keep on being the president so that he can continue his power trip. He's the only president that I know of who actually said, "I'm the president and I can do anything I want." His dad only said that since he was the president, he didn't have to eat broccoli anymore. Watch out for Bush Junior; he wants to be dictator of America for life.

It would take the repeal of a Constitutional amendment to do that, and I don't think there would be any support for that. Besides, even if Bush started pushing for this today, his term would expire before it would ever be enacted.

first of all it is a rumor, perhaps one that you started.
2ndly, it would not even ever make it out of committee in the senate much less to a debate in the house.
3rdly, it would not effect his term
