I had over $300 from working, and being given from my grandparents. (Im 14) I dont think it is right at all. Could i call the police if they wont give it back to me? (ive been asking for it back for an hour n she wont give it back) It is my pocket change now i have no money for myself.

I asked my mother and she is pretty sure its theft. You earned that money and it is most likely against child labor laws. Just because she is your mother does not give her the right to take it. You are still a minor therefore not required to pay your parents rent, food, etc. I would definitely tell your grandparents (read about it in the other question) have them talk to her if it just gets worse you can call the cops. It is theft and it is wrong, period.

You should call up your grandparents and tell them next time just make the checks out to your parents b/c they are taking the money they gave you anyways. Get them in trouble with mommy and daddy that should be fun.

By law you cannot do anything.well you could but I am not sure if you want to sue your mom but since you are minor she has full custody of you and she is responsible of your well being. Talk to your dad. Next time take ouf your money so your mom does know about it. You can always havea dumby wallet so when she goes in it she won't finda anything.

if your being irresponsible they have every right to do it to try and teach you the value of a dollar. You say its pocket change. Well kid 300 is a lot of money, more than i ever have at one time. Save it and use it wisely, and the newest hollister pants are not a necessity

Ask her why she took it. Does she need an emergency loan? If so you should write down the terms of the loan as a contract. (amount, date, repayment schedule, signature) Of course this is not a legally binding contract, but a show of trust. Taking something without asking is not right.

I don't think the police can do anything...they will not 'catch' your grandparents...try to talk to your grandparents, give them $100 to make them happy, ask them give you back $200...better than nothing...good luck!

That is really wrong. You earned that money and it's yours. She has no right to take it without a reason.
