Here are a few ideas.
1) Check if there are any local sporting event sin your area, then contact the organisers and put up some sporting equipment as a prize in exchange for a booth, During the day of the event, it is a good time to sell off some of your merchandise.
2) Contact your local businesses anc offer them a one time discount for all their employees to move the stocks off your shelves
3) Create your own contest such as fastest sports shoe lace tyer etc and attract local media Offer the contest to people whoc buy a certain amount of sports goods from you in exchange for an opportunity to join. Then you can move stuff off and create revenue.
4) Sell to local sporting goods store or offer consginment terms.Put up a prize of cash prize for stores that move the most of your products.
