Would using maderma on my face be helpful in making scars disapear? I don't have that much acne, just a lot of scars. I feel so ugly! Is there anything else that anyone has tried that works better than maderma?

No, the first thing you should get is a really good sunscreen. This will proect and allow your skin to repair itself. Then try any fading cream or serum with hydroquinone 2%, you can order up to 4% w/o prescription. This a bleaching agent. Becareful, because you must use it for at least 3 months with lots of sunscreen. If this doesn't work consult your dermatologist for a glycolic peel or laser treatment. In the mean time, invest in a good concealer. Creams are best for scars. I've sufferd fom scars mt whole life, and have found that a good doctor and concealer go hand in hand. G'luck

Maderma might not help too much. You may not be able to get the scars to completely fade, but using a moisturizer with vitamin E in it might help, or using pure cocoa butter (make *sure* you use the pure kind when you're putting it on your face; the lotions made with cocoa butter can clog your pores, which won't help). Also, be sure to exfoliate your skin a couple times a week with a gentle exfoliating product. (St Ives has a great apricot scrub that is perfect for sensitive skin.

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

My dermatologist recommended that I get glycolic peels from a licensed aestician (person who gives facials like at a spa). This really faded the scars and made the texture of the skin of my face so much better. It has also kept the annoying little breakouts under control. Just make sure the person knows what they are doing...those are serious chemicals they are putting on your face! It is also pricey--about $70 a session. The other thing that the aestician can get you is pharmaceutical grade face wash/cream, etc. The stuff they sell in drugstores and even at expensive make-up counters is pretty much just junk compared to products like "Glymed" and "Image."

Try using a trusted whitening products and take supplements like Echinecia, Vitamin A, C & E at the same time to reduce the scars & marks. This may takes weeks to months for result to appear, depending on the scars condition.

vitamin E works pretty well (you can take it in a supplement). Also, try skin bleaching cream before going though something horrible like maderma or laser surgery!! It's lik $5 for a little tub at Sally's Beauty Supply and it WORKS for me!
