Country comes from red states, where they voted for Bush. Everything else comes from urban areas, where they voted for Kerry.

That said, Blues Traveler does the Star Spangled Banner, with John Popper doing an impressive Hendrix on the harmonica, and Mark Russel's political satire (he's the nerdy guy on PBS that plays piano and sings) is priceless. When he picks on Dems, it's called "Patriotism." All the other stuff he does makes it obviously clear to normal people that PBS caters to dope-smoking long hair hippie freakazoids that want to sell our country to the Chinese.

You want to hear songs about America? LIsten to Pink's "Dear Mr. President" or Green Day's "American Idiot". They ain't very patriotic though. Bush would freak if he heard either of them.

because they think they are too cool to be patriotic- you have to remember that the 1960's kind of destroyed all of that. of course i did not grow up in the heartland of america, so i dont know what they think, but our nation is too divided in too many different ways- it is so sad because our military is fighting and dying for one cause (to back the united states)...ok i'm rambling on now, i'll stop.
