I also have windows xp and Internet Explorer. I also have Firefox browser. My firefox has an icon on my windows page, so if I want to use that I just click on it. You can only use one browser at a time, but you can switch back to Internet Explorer just by clicking on the icon on your windows page.

Double click on internet explorer. That will open another session. If you want a totally different one download Mozilla, that is another browser that is very good.

I do this all the time...(I usually have IE, Firefox and Opera all open!)
I keep a shortcut of each browser on my desktop... (or just open it from All Programs)
You simply minimize IE, then right click on the other browser, and chose to open it....when you want to switch back to IE, simply click on it, (on the taskbar) to maximize it again.
There are no compatibility issues with having multiple browsers installed, or using them simultaneously.

i would recommend getting the new Internet Explorer Beta 7.0. It has tabbed browsin and it allows you to open a tab on the same window. Its better that way. So in one tab you could have yahoo then in the other tab u could have myspace. You could have many tabs and if u cant remember what one tab is it lets u preview all the tabs in one page
