There are movies like The Godfather and maybe Goodfellas who set the bar for mob movies. Scarface is one of those movies that I believe stands equally at the top with those movies. I don't know if I could actually tell you which movie is the best since they all have their own unique criterias that make them amazing. The Godfather has an exceptional degree of an amazing dialogue and story. You can watch the movie and just fall in love with the mob which is unusaual because the mob has a tendancy to be violent and least favored. Scarface is what you call a risky movie where everything about it is risky and violent. The dialogue, the concept, and the visual aspect to it is so freakin violent that it totally scary. It's so the opposite of The Godfather but the one thing that compares it to The Godfather is the emotional aspect. The love of being in power. The Goodfellas is what I would like to say a blend of The Godfather and Scarface in one. There's a little of a risky and violent approach and a emotional love of being in a mob. In Goodfella you feel and than you don't feel your sort of torn between loving or hating the mob. Those are three exceptionally great movies that I feel have to be treated equally.

well..godfather is way up there but still
Directed by Brian De Palma and written by Oliver Stone, "Scarface" is a movie that will not be forgotten. A Cuban refugee named Tony Montana (Pacino) comes to America for the American Dream. Montana then becomes the "king" in the drug world as he ruthlessly runs his empire of crime in Miami, Florida. This gangster movie is very violent, and some scenes are unpleasant to watch. This movie has around 180+ F-words and is almost three hours long. This movie is entertaining and you will never get bored. You cheer for the Drug-lord, and in some scenes you find out that Montana isn't as evil as some other Crime Lords. This is a masterpiece and i recommend that you see this. You will not be disappointed. 9/10

Scarface is a great movie, but it's not the greatest. It's a comedy when you watch it on A&E; in their version, Pacino's friend gets handcuffed to death in the bathroom.

yeah I'd have to say the godfather. I guess it depends on who you'd most relate too. I'd always relate the guy that made his empire in a very clean way and went out surrounded by the ones he loves and left behind a legacy. but then again who doesnt like a drug lord tyrent that went out in a blaze of glory (If you wanna call it that, I'd compare it to being extermanated like a filthy rat)? I always viewed Tony Montana as the underdog though.
