There is no way to predict exactly when you will have your first period. I woke up in the morning covered in blood, and the same thing happened to two of my sisters. Usually about a week before I start I get moody or emotional, my breasts get tender, I get crampy and bloated, and I get a vaginal discharge. PMS is different for all women. It is unreasonable for you to try to wear black pants all the time. Just don't wear white. Wear a pantiliner and keep a pad or tampon with you for when you do start. You will feel it before it goes through your clothing. I have started in public many times and had to just wipe the excess blood out of my undies with toilet paper and wear them until I got home. I think the only time I went through my pants was when I was wearing a pad and went on a long road trip and didn't have a chance to change it. It overflowed.

You might start having some physical symptoms--cramps, breakouts, etc.--before you start, but you might not. Really, the best way to predict when a period will come is by tracking your cycle, which you really can't do yet since yours hasn't started.
While you can't plan the exact day it'll start for you, you can be prepared ahead so you won't feel quite so awkward when it does. Have your mom help you buy some pads or tampons (if you want to try tampons, you should probably start with the "teen" size if you can find them and definitely in "light" protection) and make sure you understand how to use them. (Pads are pretty self-explanatory, but tampons can take some practice for some girls when they first start using them.)
Also, remember that while this is all new to you and therefore it's normal to be nervous, this is a normal, healthy part of being a female and you don't have any reason to be ashamed of having a period, ever.

There's really no sure way for you to predict when your period will come, though some girls are lucky and their's is like clockwork. Mine never was and it came whenever it felt like it about ever 4 weeks roughly, it stayed for about 4 days so you'll likely be in school for at least some of the time when you get it. Since then I've been taking the pill since I was about 17 (for very painful periods) and never really had one again. Now I have the injection version of the pill every 3 months so I don't even have to remember to take a pill AND no periods! Hoorah!

first off be prepared bring everything you need to school so if it does happen you can change and keep going. you wont be able to track it until you ahve the first one then on a calender mark 1,2,3 on the calendar starting with the day it started when it stops start over marking 1,2,3, all the way to about 30 and that will kinda give you an idea when the next cycle will start then just keep doing that and it should keep you ahead of the game a little...

Have you spoken to your mom? When it first comes on you might
have some cramps. What I would do is take, depending what you will be using, tampons slender, or Always Pads, you could take in your pocket book, and maybe an extra pair of panties, a extra pair of pants in your backpack. The flow could be heavy.
Take with you everyday, that way you will be prepared.

I got my period on a school day. I was in class and i just felt something different. I had cramps and I felt like I needed to pee badly. My friends were very supportive so that helped alot. They got me what I needed and took care of me. As long as you have pads, extra clothes, and supportive friends, you will be okay. No one will know but you so there is nothing to be embarrased. Unless your friends are like mine, who told the whole class that I wasnt feeling well because I has just gotten my period, there is nothing to be embarassed of.

At that age there is not really a way to predict if or when its going to happen. The best thing to do is just be prepared for when it does happen... right supplies and maybe some advil or aleve if you get cramps and all should be good!

Just wear black pants and a pad and carry some extra ones just in case and you will be alright. You can't command your period but you can put it on a leash. What's all the embarrassment about?

just put a pair of extra pants in your locker, or a sweatshirt you can put around your waist if you get it in school. you'll probably have a white goo stuff come before you get it.
