Left our pet rabbit outside until after dark by accident. Was wondering if a wild rabbit might mount her? Don't know if one could reach her or not.

Yeah, they could get together... But in reality, rabbits are actually very territorial, and the wild one would give yours a hard time. But most likely a predetor would get her first.

Tame and wild rabbits will breed, given the opportunity. Rabbits don't know the difference. To them a rabbit is a rabbit!

I would be more concerned that a dog might get her. My friend left her's out and their neighbors ate it for dinner. I just thought I would share that one! Her daughter was heart broken! I bred a flemish gaint with a large black rabbit. Yes, the wild rabbit can if the tame one is out, but if they are of the same sex, they normally don't.

A wild rabbit may try to hook up with yours, but even if they do she won't get pregnant. Cottontails have a different number of chromosomes than domestic rabbits do. Domestic rabbits are descended from European wild rabbits, so unless you're in Europe, you don't have anything to worry about.

If given a chance it could happen. There are several easter bunnies living in our neighborhood. They are not suppose to be wild rabbits but they are living on their own and they wouldn't know that they were not suppose to court a pet rabbit if given a chance.

My dear, that is how the Netherlands dwarf rabbit was made! A wild rabbit and a white rabbit bred made dwarfs. Yes, they can mate!

Maybe in the right hands but then again, maybe there are those who think wild rabbits should retain their wild instincts, or at least some of them.

yup he deff will if given the chance.even thoguh one is tame and the other not they are still rabbits
