So far, in modern literature, these creatures are not really present, save for Harry Potter. So, excluding Harry Potter, what books have phoenixes in them?

Only book I remember reading which features a phoenix is "The phoenix and the carpet" by E. Nesbitt.

There is a phoenix in the film version of the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. It appears during the main battle scene. (I don't think the phoenix is in the book though :-/ )

any book about arizona hahaha sky harbor airport in phoenix old terminal 2 has a beautiful peice of art a large phx bird on the wall made of copper and other metals been there at lest 50 yrs really cool

A book that I wrote compared the leading character to a phoenix. Of course, it hasn't been published yet, but I'll let you know when it is :)

Herodotus, in his History, has a short chapter about the Phoenix, in his section on Egypt. He believed it to be real, and wrote about it as such.

theres the ballet firebird (russian) its main character is a pheonix,i think its also a symphony. we use them a lot more often then in america
