My best friend and I used to date but we broke up because of various trivial reasons mostly due to our age and where we are in our lives now. Anyway we retain a friendship though a bit strained and after we broke up he has been smoking the Mary Jane where as he wasn't before. He tells me that he doesn't do it often but I'm still worried about him and let him know that he's being an idiot for doing it almost everytime we speak. I do love the boy and have for years as a friend and as more but things are so messed up with us it just seems that maybe arguing over his life choices isn't worth it because it's been taking a toll on me mentally and physically and he finds it greatly annoying. Am I crazy in wanting to look out for him or should I let it go and have him learn on his own?

You should be a friend indeed because your friend whether he realiazes or not is in need. No you are not crazy. You worry about him because you care about him. That is what a real friends do. They look out for one another. Marijuana is an illegal drug. People try to make the argument by comparing it to alchohol. However, at the end of the day, when the smoke clears and the dust settles, it is still an illegal drug and theres a reason it is an illegal drug. The best advice I can give you is to keep being a friend. Remember, if you were to ask a majority of the people who have become addicted to drugs, what drug got them started, they will tell you marijuana. Not only should you worry about your friend, you should also pray for him as well. I will praying for both you both. Good luck and God bless. Peace.

Sometimes there is nothing that we can do for our friends accept be there for them when things come crashing down.
I know form experience, that some times you may just feel like you have to get away from every thing and weed just seems like the easiest way to do it.
He is annoyed because he knows your right but he has to learn that on his own.

people will stop on their own decision, you cant change another and make them choose "better"; Beyond already telling him you're worried about him etc; cant do much. Make new friends and hang around with more healthy people, slowly leave this guy behind if he is not going to change and you dont like his way of life

its normal to worry about the well being of ur friends. if he says he's only doin it once in awhile then let him. it sounds like its causing more trouble worrying bout that than its worth. if you notice it getting out of hand then by all means nag!! lol! for now just show him that you care by accepting his choices. good luck and take care :) *hugs*

no you are defiantly not crazy for caring about him...... but if he doesent care than why should you.. i mean you said that you tell him how stupid he is every time y'all talk so if he's still not listening than maybe you should just let it go and let him figure it out for himself.. sometimes people learn better by them experiencing it themselves.
