i love wva there is almost something magical that brings you back! i have lived away from here for 9 years in florida but there is no place like my beautiful quiet peaceful country home! i dont care what people think about not having good jobs! my husband works hard for his money! and they are grown around here to know how to take care of their families!!!!! thank you

West Virginia..I was born in Northern part of WV (there is a difference..I don't have a heavy southern accent). It's a beautiful state that needs more jobs and fewer government officials standing around with their hands in their pockets(did I just say that out loud..oops). I like the fact that the Walmarts are clean and most people are friendly. The cost of living is cheap and I would still be living there if I could have found a job teaching.

I'm a Virginia native, and I know that in Virginia, the West Virginians are sort of the "poor cousins." People laugh at them because they're backwoods, redneck, hicks, etc. I've been through West Virginia many times and I think most of the state is beautiful. All the people I've encountered from there are very friendly.

I was born in WV. It is a beautiful state. I moved away from there in 1979 and it is a great place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there. However, we are not backwoods hillbilly idiots as people like to portray us.
There's just no future there as far as making a decent life for yourself. It's a pretty poverty ridden state.
Sad, but true.

Nope, never heard anybody talk bad about WV...try living in Texas..... I read a lot of negative remarks about Texans...
I always feel that those who talk about others, are just jealous,,and want to actually be that person, or live in that state.
