My teacher asked for a justification about the connection between Acceleration, speed, and an elevator. And how the elevator goes up and down with Acceleration and speed. I already know the equation so pls. do not answer to me with the formula of the equation. Thank you!

Speed and accel relate to an elevator by common sense if nothing else:

At a floor, the elevator is stopped - velocity = 0.

To get to another floor, it needs to start moving - accel = x meters per second (or whatever) how you express acceleration is probably best supplied by the question you might have at hand.

Once you begin accelerating, you have speed. (velocity = x/second)

The elevator needs to travel to the other floor so you've got a time factor there too.

Tell him they are NOT connected. Acceleration and speed (velocity, really) are parameters that measure motion. An elevator is a little box people ride up and down in to get to the gym. An elevator may have A & V, but A & V will never have elevator.

Despite this clear lack of connection, some text book authors insist on using the elevator as a tool to illustrate A & V, since they think it's something we can all relate to.......

An elevator is always under the pull of earth.

That is it is always have an acceleration “g” toward the earth.

Therefore its motion is affected by this gravitational pull.

For an elevator to stand still or to be in uniform motion, an acceleration which is equal but opposite to “g” must be applied always.

In that case the elevator can move up with uniform speed or move down with uniform speed or may be at rest.

For a person in the elevator it will look as if even though the lift is accelerated it is at rest or in uniform motion.

For the elevator to move up with some acceleration, it must be acted upon by acceleration greater than “g” in the upward direction. The elevator will move up with an acceleration which is equal to the difference between the two.

For the elevator to move down with some acceleration, it must be acted upon by acceleration less than ‘g’ again in the upward direction. The elevator will move down with an acceleration which is equal to the difference between the two.

If no acceleration is provided the elevator will move down with an acceleration equal to “g”. This time we call the fall as free fall.

first assume that the elevator is stationary and wants to go up. the initial speed and acceleration is zero. the elevator speeeds up and so its acceleration increases from zero to a specific value, d m/s^2. during the increasing of the acceleration, the speed also increases. but there is a moment in which the speed stays constant and the acceleration becomes zero. the elevator then wants to stop. the acceleration must decrease from d m/s^2 to 0. because the acceleratuon decreses the speed also decreases untill it reaches to 0 and the elevator stop.

If you cut the cables to an elevator it will accelerate and gain speed until it hits the ground floor where it loses all its speed in very rapid negative acceleration.

everything that moves, including an elevator, goes faster if it is being accellerated and slower if it is being decelerated

an elevator going down, is usually accelerated down by gravity until it gets to the design speed, then is decellerated (compared to down) by the cable mechanism until it comes to a stop at the floor it is supposed to stop at

going up the elevator is accellerated up by the cable mechanism and then is allowed to decellerate (compared to up) from gravity until it comes to a stop

an elavator with a broken cable mechanism, no safety brake, and no other stop, will accellerate at 32.2 ft/sec/sec , going faster each second, until it hits the bottom

I don't know what you mean by "connected" and I can't imagine how to "justify"

I do know quite a bit about motion mechanics
