Currently, they do not. Actually, women didn't shave their legs prior to World War Two. And it was a custom in the US for many years for a truly refined male to polish his nails, but only with clear. Many European women don't shave their arms or their legs. And there certainly was a time when a man would not even think of wearing an earing or two. It has to do with fashion. And I know you probably don't think so, but it could easily change. Our society is slowly degenderizing.

Hi, we do it because we have been programmed from a very young age ( in our society at least) to belive that we are not feminine if we have body hair. I do shave but really i know that i am being influenced by society and only doing it because it is expected of me. Look, women actually accentuate the hairs around their eyes , (eyelashes and eyebrows) with make up. As pcheesewhiz3 wizely said, it is about fashion. Look at tribes and the way they dress and decorate their bodies, if i walked about like that people would think it was odd. It all comes down to what we are used to. It is more natural for a woman to have hairy armpits and legs than it is for them to have no hair there isn't it...well after all that's what our bodies do.it is all so bizarre. Each to their own.

I have no idea at all, but the hair under guys arms cracks me up! I have no idea why, but it does. It's like a little wig or something.
I doubt men would keep up with it if it was required - half the time they have some stubble on their faces as it is.
Although I once dated a guy on the university swim team and he shaved everything - including his head and it was kind of nice. Different.

hey mate i dont have a problem with this i shave my arm pits cos it stops me from sweating to bad i shave my chest cos i hate having a hairy chest and i shave my privates cos my wife loves em like that i just leave my legs cos i dont wear a skirt and they aint that hairy anyway so yeh some guys do shave its just some wont admit it cos they dont think its manly and dont wanna be called for doing so but i think its well ok it is the 21st century ya know

Guys could at least shave their underarms. Otherwise they are just lazy and will smell They smell anyway !!!

Because on a girl is so not sexy!!! and on a man it's more manly... though I like man who have shaved underarms.... so much more hygienic..

Tradition and preferences, I guess. I think hairy men look hot though. IT's part of being a man in my thoughts.

Well, women don't need to smell like goat's *** when they get sweaty.
Guys must like smelling that way when they get sweaty or they would shave as well!

Because in WWII the Gillette company sales were going down, so they decided to sell to women.

Because guys think it's too girly and they want to look more masculine. Some guys do it especially bodybuilders and athletes.
