YOU CAN PROBABLY ANALYZE ANYTHING. WITH NOT KNOWING WHERE YOUR TRYING TO GET EMPLOYED BY. IF ITS FOR A NEWSPAPER POSITION, THEN LISTEN OR WATCH THE NEWS AND PUT THINGS IN YOUR OWN WORDS.

Uh.... if I may point out the obvious... If you have to ask how you can write a research paper, then you don't have what it takes to be a research person....

Why don't you:
1) pick a current event (there are plenty)
2) write down major points of that event
3) find the details and figures related to the event
4) then write the paper based on facts, but leave out your opinions

Go to Word and ask the wizard, it will prompt you on how to do it
