If someone had the effort and constant thoughts that they could be a good artist, can a person be able to learn and be good at drawing anime, and characters? Or anything at all?
For one thing, I can't draw at all, but stick figures. Is it possible for me to learn how to draw?
-I am trying to see if there's a possibility for me to be good at drawing, even though I have no talent in it whatsoever. Is drawing something that takes practice, or do you just have to be good at drawing?

i've been studing art since elementary i'm in high school right now and it really just takes a bunch of practise and patience.
why don't you try getting invollved in art class in school you probably won't start drawing animes but after a while you could probably get good enough to just look at animes and draw them.
Hint: try searching large sketches either on computer or in any manga and try to copy the exact same image over and over and you may be surprised at the diffrences they might have.

yeah, i think so. just b/c some people have natural talents so that w/ work they can be great at something doesn't mean that someone who originally is bad at that same thing can't work up to being good.
i mean, if people could only use what skill they were born or what came easily to them then everyone could just sit back and say that they've done all they could do.
so i say go for it. if you don't get it one way (like drawing a circle and then a line down the circle and blah) then just draw what you see and etc. just keep going and practicing and you'll do well in the end.

Whos to say whats really normal in this life anyway? I used to watch Sailor Moon when I was little, and though I dont watch it any more, I still love it. And Im 20 years old. If you like anime and manga, thats who you are. Dont be ashamed of who you are and dont try to be someone you arent. Some people just dont understand others because they're not like them. Thats how the human race is these days. If they find someone who isnt remotely close to what they are like, they think them different and weird. I just say, screw them. Everyone is unique so whats the problem? I love anime and manga and all that snazz and I aint changing. I lost count of how many people have told me to 'grow up' and stop liking anime and all that. But what does liking or not liking anime have to do with growing up really? Be proud of who you are.

As long as you have the ambition you can do it. Study art as much as possible. Get outside of your own world of anime and learn how to draw from life, learn to paint as well. Being diversified in your styles will help you improve much faster. Stick with it and don't beat yourself up to much over your sucky sketches, they will get better.

Some people are naturals at drawing like my sister (Deviantart.com's Rhinestoner). But I think it's more practice than anything to perfect your own technique.
