Some parents don't give a darn. They are so involved in their own selfish ego and are unconcerned about their children's feelings. I left home and never turned back, when I left that disaster pit my whole life changed and thank God I have surpassed them all. Some are still stagnated in family muck. In my case I succeeded from a poverty ridden ghetto to the white collar ranks impossible if I had stayed at home under a rotten tyrannical parent.

Perhaps they are willing to risk hurting your feelings in order to impart some essential truth. That is what good parents do. They are willing to be reviled in order to raise decent human beings.

Of course, there is a vast difference between being maliciously hurtful, and having to tell someone a painful truth. Some people are just evil and mean, and those are the people you try really hard to grow up not to be like.

Because your pain is not sensible to them. Really it is the meaning for you in you that makes hurt or pleasure. You could redefine what is said to you to change pain into pleasure or simply nil. How can you do this? When you revalue the you you want to be or choose a different goal for you that you can feel good as. We humans by nature are perfectionistic and at the same time imperfectable. Is it any wonder we are perpetually frustrated with our self? Accept your limits as you discover them for yourself and accept the sensory limits of your others. Be a good human.
