Watching BBC news 24's report of PM Blair's press conference in the Middle East I get a horrible thought here. The Bush/Blair project for Iraq cannot succeed. The only answer now is to use the Israeli/Hizbullah crisis and escalate it until there's one Godalmighty war in the region. They might think they could win that. I work backstage- Too simplistic?

No, I don't think this is too simplistic. Oil is running out. We've reached peak oil, and most of what's left is in the Middle East. I think they are going to do whatever they can to get complete control of the Middle East. I'm on the other side of the pond, so I'm more convinced about Bush than about Blair. I would not be surprised if Bush used such a scenario to cancel the presidential election in '08. He's already stolen two elections, lied about Iraq re: WMD and Saddam's relationship to al Qaeda. He spies on Americans in defiance of the US constitution. I thinks he wants to ruin our democracy and declare himself as the dictator. He probably had it in for Saddam partly because he was jealous of Saddam's ultimate evil power.

I don't think that the Israeli/Hezbollah crisis is being brought up to make us not think of Iraq- I think it was brought up to make us not think of Iran. Its not that the US thinks they can win it... its that they know they can't so they keep distracting us in the news.

I take that back- maybe they do think they can win- but they are pissing off so many people its not working in their favor...

all this... and i'm from texas.

Think about it, the world is overpopulated, the west is struggling economically, thin the populous and the monies generated in rebuilding will far outdo the cost of a few dozen nukes!
