I know cross dressers and even a couple of transsexuals who's wives have stood by them. They generally explain this by saying they fell in love with a person, not just a penis.

ok first off you're making a gross asumtion that all crossdressers are male, that's not true. Second of all, it must feel that way, although I myself haven't had that experience.
