1. Gojira (Original Godzilla in Japanese) - now available on Rialto Films. Shows how much of a genius filmmaker I. Honda really was. So many themes that traditional SF lit was famous for.
2. 2001 a Space Odessey - Classic Kubrick. Intellectual and state of the art. "Sorry Dave, I can't do that".
3. (original) Planet of the Apes - Interesting look at humanity, through the image of an ape world. Loved the last scene too, one of Hollywood's best.
4. Blade Runner (Dir. Cut) - Dark and meaningful, human frailty with a God complex. Still being ripped off by modern SciFi flics.
5. Matrix (even though 2 ruins it in a way) - Existentialism meets celluloid. This film would be close to perfect had the W. Bros not decided to cash in.
