Aside from bacteria, fungi and diseases....
I'd say it depends on the species, but people are one of the big predators of whales in some parts of the world still....and so are the larger sharks (great white, hammerhead, though they prefer smaller prey like seals usually, they will eat *anything* that poses an opportunity to feed), and *some of the larger, non-plankton eating whales themselves* like the Orca (killer whale) and Sperm Whales (which don't eat plankton and do hunt prey). Also, I have heard that *giant octopus* have been known to take out an occasional whale, though the reverse is more often true as regards sperm whales....
I'm likely missing something, but that is all I can think of off the top of my head.

If the whale is other than a Killer Whale, then the killer whale would be the prey for a calf or baby whale. In a documentary entitled "deep Blue", I saw three Killer whales take six hours to separate a baby humpback away from its mother to eat it. The mother herself was not in any danger. Other than that, only man preys on them and that is illegal...except for Eskimos.

Whales are pretty much at the top of the food chain. Although they are at the top though, they are still killed by fishermen, pollution, and much, much more. Just because they look like killers of the deep doesn't mean they are. If you want to know more and actually see how gentle these creatures are, take a trip to Orlando, Florida and go to Sea World or just check out the website!!!

We used to, killer whales can gang up on whales and eat them. Other sharks can pick off weak babies and weak old whales. Hag fish will attach themselves to whales and eat from them. The cookie cutter shark eat chucks of flesh from whales. Giant squids. Polar bears can kill beached whales, a pack of arctic wolves. Anything predatory will eat a stranded whales.
