Brilliant question, and I admit that the first answer is quite thorough...however to simplify it.....a stellium uis a cluster of the same sign of signs in clusters of a conjunct nature. It can be utterly enchanting or stilting, predicated upon the person's basic charachter, let us NOT count out free will here, for some of us at the natal chart are to die 9 violent deaths, and others are to catapault into notoriety. In any event a stellium, grandly explained in the aforementioned is just that, though there is some argument of the least amount of planets and degrees of what makes a conjunct, so I pretty much leave it up to the interpreter. For over 30 years I have studied this, and people never cease to amaze me.
A usual conjuntion is within appx 9 degrees....yes there are orbs and planetary exceptions i.e. sextiles trines and so forth....but you must ask yourself, as the transits glide your very sun sign throughout the different houses of the zodiac, "Where am I now and what is my purpose...;?"
I find this the best way to look at it. My ex Mother in Law had a seven planet stellium in Leo....and was more a Virgo than anything. many things simply some with age, and whatever the ruling planet may be, may on account of the issuants Karma, be just a jag or so over, marking time for communicatins, perfection, the ned to be recognized, lavished upon......I think they are wonderful and exciting to see in peoples charts...now do I have any? Well perhaps that is left for another time.
I have done my best here, though I cannot out do the first answer...it is brilliant...though I did not copy and paste a thing, rarely do.
Thank You, I really hope that this sheds some light on everything....now what do YOU think?
I highly recommend this link....then yo uwill see for yourself the aspects conjucts, oppositions and so forth....

Thank You and I hope that this allows for a bit further information. I would say to any doubting thomas or Thomasina, that this s really in depth and is NOT a generalization what so ever. Even a pessimist can enjoy it. I doubt from the word go, as I must SEE results..and here ,...I have.

A 42° orb is too wide to consider all of the planets involved to be part of a Stellium. With the luminary and the planets you named: the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Neptune and Saturn, I would use only an orb of 10°, if you include the Sun, 7° if you don't. The tighter the orb, the stronger the effects.

A Stellium, a conjunction of 3 or more planets in a house or sign, will create focus, emphasis and action, greatly enhancing the importance of the sign (Libra or Scorpio, depending on the stellium with the tighter orb) and the house involved, in this case the 9th house. Stelliums are very strong and can dominate a chart.

Mutual reception is where two planets are placed in each other's signs of rulership. For example: Currently, transiting Uranus is in Pisces and Neptune is in Aquarius. In Astrology, Neptune rules Pisces and Uranus rules Aquarius. So currently, those planets are in mutual reception.

In Mutual Reception, the planets involved may be interpreted by switching house placements. Using the example above, if Neptune was in 7 and Uranus in 8, you could also interpret for Neptune in 8 and Uranus in 7.

The 9th house governs - the higher mind, religion, higher education, the law, science, ideals, philosophy, psychology, dreams, long distance travel, foreigners, clergy, grandchildren, ethics, and your inlaws.
