and I felt really out of place, but most people over forty left early any way! Should I try to learn these new dances or stick with the oldies but goodies?

Speaking from a man's point of view, I would say take up the ballroom dancing thing. I think I would like it if it were available in my area. I read on the Internet it was one of the fastest growing dances being learned because of the t.v. shows on and because of the great exercise it offers. Many men and women are taking it to lose weight and get some exercise while having fun. Good luck. And good for you for not wanting to have sex on the dance floor with your clothes on!

Take the lessons. To quoate a dance instructor, "it's not a matter of if you'll mess up. It's when you will mess up." But you know some times, it's best to make up, as you go along.

What new dances? the only ones i know are the ones where you wiggle around and copy moves that you see in music videos... lame. i wish i knew the hustle, swing, waltzing, stuff like that! But if you know any good recent dances, go for it! Dancing is always great!

Eh, who needs dances? No one ever looked dignified at a dance so don't worry about looking stupid at them.
