Ask any question you can think of. If the male/female is hesitant on answering then they might be hiding something. Take your time before being married but spend as much time with the person as you can so you truly get to know who they are. People try to put their best foot forward in the begining but over time that is to much work to keep up so the true person comes out. That is where that old saying "Actions speak louder than words" has a huge meaning.

A LOT!! You should ask your partner why he/she wants to marry you. You should also ask yourself why you want to marry your partner. You should know his/her views on life, children, finances, etc. You should also talk about where you live and if the situation ever arises to leave "home". There is really so much to ask and know, but really the comfortable truth comes out after marriage most of the time.

There's a great bokk called "Lies at the Alter" by Robin Smith. She goes on Oprah alot and is a psychologist on Oprah. The book seems pretty great. It has all these questions that you HAVE to ask before you get married.

you must ask about kids dose your partner want kids if so how many and also in what time bracket I here to many times that after they are married one want kids and the other does not want kids. Money and things that you both own/ or have say if you have your own car and he has his are you going to have both cars or just one. things like that. animals is also a good point as well. do you both like them do you both like the same type IE dog cats things like that. Don't go into a marriage with past issues these should stay in the past. All should be good and well. good luck.

I hope you made the right decision! Cheers!!
