Definitely Egypt. Anyone who could create the pyramids 5000 years ago with only manpower, copper tools, and simple measuring tools gets a lot of respect from me. They were by far the most advanced society in almost all respects. They treated women with respect. They tried to live moral lives, so they could pass into the afterlife, and they built not only the pyramids, but gorgeous, intricate works of art far beyond the skills of any civilization of that time, and of many since then.

First of all, it's all an opinion. Not only that, opinions usually change, so you're probably just asking to get various opinions.
It depends what you mean by "ancient". Before asking a question, maybe setting a time period would help? I don't know, just a suggestion. Let's assume ancient refers from 4000 BCE to 1500 BCE. Anything after that is of the Classical Age, supposedly...
So, I'd have to say Ancient Sumerians, Ancient Egyptians, Ancient Indians, Ancient Chinese, Ancient Greeks, Ancient Romans, Ancient Mayans, Ancient Olmecs, and just about every ancient civilization that every existed.

Without a doubt - Ancient Egypt. The richness of their civilization is seen in all parts of their culture. Incredible art, architecture, ceremony - it goes on and on. To think that such a culture could arise from the desert - albeit with a great river nurturing it. For my money it was my first fascination and still remains so.

The Incas - Their civilization is by far the most interesting considering they had no written language. Their empire was just as big as the Roman empire, they let those they conquered keep their religions, they built road systems that still exist today, their language still exist known as Quechua, their architecture rivals the Romans and Egyptians, they were the first socialist society in the Western Hemisphere and it existed for only 100 hundred years. True the Incas existed before the Empire, but they accomplished their greatest feats as an empire.

I'm going to offer the Maurya Empire of the third century BCE, under the reign of Ashoka. What I find awesome was how an empire that had been forged by conquest turned into one held together by peace, which happened practically overnight. That change, to me, is perhaps more interesting than the changes in the Roman Empire under Constantine, but that just my opinion.

Ancient Egypt!!! They had a rich culture and amazing features: geometry, mathematics, paper, written language, and they were a united people. Plus, they are the cause of a age old debate "How did they build the pyramids" and "How were they so perfect"

I like the Persian Empire. The impact their religion, Zoroastronism had on Judaism and later Christianity makes it the most fascinating empire of the ancient civilisation. It was the first religion to stress a good God and a bad God and Judaism adopted this and it of course was adopted by Christians thru Judaism.
