Was there oil in it at all? Almost sounds like they didn't put the drain plug on it. And yes, it depends on the additive, as they act like a cleaner, and tranny fliud doesn't hold up to the demands like engine oil does.

Depends on how much they put in and what your overall oil capacity is. But yea, it can do it if in high enough concentration. I would think there would have been some mad ticking before it went... If so, then Id say yes. If its compleatly seized then see if it can be freed, use some restore oil additive and let that sit in the engine for a day or so, then crank. But yeah, they should be liable.

Yes. you should document everything about this and hold these people to task. Have several witnesses present when the oil pan plug is removed and what is in the pan is drained into a clean vessel and the amount (volume) is documented, and possibly lab analyzed to prove or disprove that these people are at fault. If they are then they owe you an engine.

I would say your engine locking up is a big problem. Do you have your receipt? They may owe you a new engine. Why are you using additives anyway. If you use good quality lubricants you should not have to add any additives and always change your lubricants at the factory recommended intervals.

everyone keeps telling you to sue. I would recommend contacting the facility that changed your oil before any work or inspections is done to your car. if someone else inspects or removes and thing from your car, the oil change facility can deny your claim. oil change facilities have insurance companies, and are pretty fair when dealing with claims. but the main question is how do you know they put a trans add into your oil, and if you knew at the time of the oil change, why didn't you have them change the oil again. contact the oil change facility and let them know what happened.

Why didn't you say anything when it happened? Of course transmission additives cause problems if added in the incorrect cavity. Most additives are unnecessary. Follow your owners manual. They didn't mention additives, did they?

Trans. fluid or additive definitely takes away engine lubrication.Have the engine oil analyzed,so that you have proof and can sue!
