Definitely! He's just in a slump right now. Everyone needs to relax and let him hit his stride. He'll come around, just watch ! I have complete and utter faith in my A-Rod ! So Sweet !

yeah, pretty much. Even when he does well in a game, they'll still show something bad about him. Problem is, he is a highest paid player in baseball and on top of that, he is playing for the greatest team ever.

When he started out with Seattle, Griffey was the best player ever
and when he left, A-Rod was becoming one of the best. At that time, he had no pressure and media was small.

When he went to Texas and became the highest paid player, he slumped a bit in the beginning due to pressure, but then played his game. Media was small and even though he was playing great, the media was on him all the time and there was no pressure.

Now he is with NY, BIG difference, media is all over the place and much, much bigger than with other teams. Plus the fact that playing with the Yankees, they draw crowds everywhere they go and the spotlight is on him all the time. The fans is different as well, most clubs, the fans hope they can compete, hope they can make the playoffs. (this is why I think the Cubs has the best fans ever, even when they were always in last place, they always sold out) NY fans EXPECT to win and they expect the best player to hit homeruns everyday and be a gold glove winner like he was when he played shortstop. Even Randy Johnson wasn't fully prepared his first season with NY. he wasn't used to all the media attention. Not everyone can play there, regardless how good they may be.

I am a yankees fan, is A-Rod my favorite player? no...do I think he deserve that much money? no...in my opinion, no one does. I DO however, think it's unfair to expect so much from him day in and day out, he is only human after all.

He's a very highly paid player and he is slumping. He plays for the Yankees and he is slumping. He was MVP of the AL last year and he is slumping. All these things make it a big story. Not the least of which is that he plays for the Yankees, who, along with the Red Sox, get disproportionate amount of coverage. If he was still with the Rangers, I doubt we would be hearing about this every day.

Baseball isn't making a big deal out of this. Yankees fans are booing A-Rod even though he is their best player.

I completely agree with danceman528. It's not baseball, it's the fans who make a big deal about this. He's a great player, but i guess a few mistakes makes people forget that.
