I think that getting, at the least, a Bachelor's would be best, but, to answer your question, I think you should go for the A.A. It shows more commitment because you need to be in school longer, and it's a degree over certificate program. Sometimes an employer will pay for you to continue your education, and you will be grateful down the road if they ask you to get a Bachelor's or Master's, and you already have credits instead of having to start from scratch.
In addition to working toward a degree, I would suggest working on expanding your list of contacts by talking to people in the industy, joining a business networking group, or a club at your school that is related to what you want to pursue. This way, people will keep you in mind when certain jobs arise, and you can get your foot in the door. Sometimes in the business world it's who you know over what you know!
I would also suggest maybe doing an internship in your field of interest (that you can probably get school credit for), or even just working in an office environment for 1+ years can make a huge difference when looking for employment upon graduation. You may have to start at the bottom now, but the experience will look good on your resume and may land you a job that is beyond entry-level upon graduation.
Good luck in your studies!

I hate to say this but I am not sure that ether one is going to be a lot of help. Have you thought about Nursing or some kind of trade school. With ether one you come out with something that can be used in a job. I know two many people who have 4 year degrees in psychology and sociology who are driving cabs or flipping burgers.
