I got full refund by faxing them doctor's statement that my husband was "currently being treated and is not able to travel at this time".

That happened to me....if you are at the airport, they will note in your record that you declined to fly because of illness and permit you to fly later without a rebooking charge. If you are still at home, call the airline and explain the situation. They may require a Dr. note but should have the same policy

u can change the date of ur flight (depending on ur ticket type) there might be a small charge
