Well, there are not a whole lot of things that you can do with your hamster other than play. You pick him up and hold him for a minute then put him down to run around.

Lay down in the corner of a room and use your body to make a wall for him. He can play in this corner area then climb on you to explore further. He'll get to know you and you can have fun playing with him.

You're going to have to go slowly, let him sniff your hand, let him get used to you. Putting a treat in your hand and letting the hamster take it from you can be a good way to get them used to being in your hand. When you are holding him, be sure to support him fully with both hands so he doesn't feel like he is going to fall. As far as what to do together... hamster balls are great for some hamsters (I've had some that love them, some that hate them). Some will be happy being carried around in a pocket while you go about your daily routine. Just find out what your little guy enjoys

Ok first off....hamsters are not social animals. I know that you want to spend more time with him, but what I suggest, is leave him be, feed him, and let him try to escape every chance he gets.
Next, I highly suggest you get a rat. Rats are VERY social animals. They love people and they love other rats. A rat could be your best friend. Plus, they don't bite. Rats love attention and will go with you anywhere you go. You can also train them. They are very loving animals. I had both. All my hampsters ever did were sit in their cage and try to get out. They could care less for your company. Rats on the other hand, WANT your company. I used to take my rat EVERYEWHERE. She even ran around my room and when I called her, she would come to me. Believe me, get a rat, or even 2. They are such great pets! I love them! They will actually love you back. As for the hammy, give him lots to chew..that's all he'll want to do.

I have a hamster now and he is wonderful but I have had some in the past that liked to bite. When I bought this one I was told when you want to hold him/her, cup your hands and keep them close to your body. They do not have good depth perception so if they get scared they may try to bite. Let the hamster go from hand to hand and walk up your arms. If you can not get him out of the cage by grabbing him, they can turn on you and try to bite, put your hand into the cage but keep it rigid so he can get used to something being in his cage. You can let him walk into your hand or I take the lid to his ball and let him walk onto that and take him out that way. Make sure you wash your hands before handling him because if there is the slightest scent of food on your hands that can trigger it too. You can put him in your lap to let him get to know you or fold up a towel and hold that steady on your hands against your body. I hope this helps.

Yea I have excellent info, first of all buy a pack of cheese. Any flavor of choice. Then put cheese on finger and rub finger in front of hampster's face. Don't worry he might bite, but after a while you'll get yoused to it. If not then get a bat and wack him in the head to teach him a lesson.

Start practicing with some food, give em some food with your fingers, with careful of course, and later on he will trust you. Animal are the ones that need to trust us.

this sounds weird, but my sister has like 3 hamsters, all in seperate cages. what she does is she takes and old, dry towel, puts in the bathtub with some empty toilet paper rolls (they like squeezing thru them), treats, and just sits in the tub and plays with ONE of them. dont pick it up too high, they get scared. just let it get to know you. good luck!

:-)

first of all
get off the computer and get him/her out of the cage and seat him/her on your hands
let him/her travel from hand to hand
do not cramp him/her up inb your hands or in a hug because he/she might bite you (it's happened to me).
just be calm and don't give he or she a reason to bite you

Sorry, I was speaking to your hamster last night and he said that he hates you. Try getting it drunk.
