my two cents worth...
they probably don't do it nearly as much as you think. my experience is that sometimes it comes up in conversation, sometimes they are asked directly, and sometimes they offer their opinion because they think you need to hear it, or may benefit from it.

but the thing about an opinion you don't like is that it sticks to you. it's kinda like bus schedules. you take a bus every day at 7 o'clock sharp. if the traffic is bad, on fridays, it may be 5 minutes late. what happens? every time the bus is late you mumble about how the bus is never on time, though when you stop to think about it, it's late maybe 2 or 3 times in a month.

humans don't really often notice something nice and good, working as it is supposed to. but something that disagrees, or causes inconvenience they never seem to forget.

I was born and raised here in the US. I joined the Navy and was able to see a great many foreign lands. I also risked my life for this country and I feel the same way you do. If someone else reads this and is offended, tough SH!T, but every time I hear people speaking in a foreign language, I want to pull their tongues out and cram them up their @sses! I don't think I went over seas to have my country and culture taken from ME! I can also tell you that many people born and raised here should also go away!

i think it is because they come here thinking they are going to have abetter life and make lots of money and stuff but when they actually get here it is a real different country than they thought. that and they sometimes have a hard time with the language and further more. the fact that we are free , that we have a democratic society.

i agree with the person who said that illegals complain mre than legal aliens.
all the illegals do is take jobs from americans, live off our welfare system, if they want to be americans then they have to get a legit job where they take taxes out, and not these on the corner jobs in new york espicaly in farmingville man are they crowdding the corners.

PLEASE NOTE I AM NOT AGAINST LEGAL ALIENS I AM HOWEVER AGINST ILLEGAL ALIENS.

The First Amendment does give them freedom of speech.

Some may be quite disappointed when they find that US streets are really not paved with gold; that this is not as free a country as they thought it would be (but still better than where most of them came from).

You are right though - that is being hypocritical. They could always go try out another country, and see how that goes.

For the same reason that we go to other countries and complain about them.

Actually, legal aliens don't complain about this country as much as citizens or illegals. They are gratefulo to be here. Then again you are going to meet some who are always going to complain no matter what.

They want American benefits (strong economy, basic freedoms, relative saftey, etc..) while keeping the things they liked about their home (language, weather, etc...)

If you come to America to live, you deal with the total package. Cold weather (in the North), the English language, and people who will disapprove just because they can. It's part of the cost fo doing business in this country. Accept it or move.

For the same reasons we who don't live in the US complain about it.

But, I think we have slightly more right that they do, as we aren't benefiting from your hospitality like they are.
