Hah, wouldn't the better question be who doesn't like Dani California? The song is really good.

Let's first look at the music. Many have complained that the riff was taken from Tom Petty's "Mary Jane's Last Dance". While they share much in common, I think it was unintentional. Anthony Kiedis does a good job singing this song, with that California swagger to him. The real star is guitarist John Frusciante. Everyone knows that Flea is, well, is as good as bassists could get, and Chad Smith, who is virtually unknown, does a great job drumming.

The lyrics are about the life and death of a girl named Dani California. The narrator, who seems to have been in a relationship with the girl, mourns her death. The character Dani has appeared in other RHCP songs in the past also.

This is the best song on Stadium Arcadium. It's the only one I play over and over, but that's not saying the other songs are bad. Check out "Snow (Hey Oh)", "Charlie", "Torture Me", "Especially in Michigan", "Desecration Smile", "Stadium Arcadium", "Tell Me Baby", "Make You Feel Better", and "Storm in a Teacup".

Awesome

It's catchy, but the lyrics really aren't that great.
