I have. I went through Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana, lost everything, not just my own personal home and all belongings, but also my whole community. Not Metro New Orleans, but 20 minutes away, in Chalmette, St. Bernard Parish. Anyway, it was all washed away and now I have relocated to Nashville, TN with my family and am back in a house again ( not a FEMA trailer ) and have funiture again ( all brand new and all paid for with cash!) and schools and doctors and grocery stores and clean air and clean streets. All of the things that I and so many others take for granted everyday, until it is all gone. Anyway, I feel like I made it through the point of no return, coming back up for air from the devastation in New Orleans and landing back on my feet with a normal life again. A lot of people have not been so fortunate. There is always a "return" path, people just have to find it and make it work for them. Take control and don't wait around on others to make it happen for you.

Does losing a career, a home, a wife, a business, five cars, all my possesions, and having to raise two babies on my own count? My daughter will start college soon... HAve I made it yet? No? Oh... When I was twenty three I got hit by a car when I was riding my bike and then the driver kept going until I fell off the hood and rolled down an embankment...They found me crawling on the interstate at 1 am, my heart stopped 12 times on the way to the hospital...Does that count? What exactly are you asking friend?

This is also called, "crossing the Rubicon." Meaning a point of no return, or a point at which your forces are dedicated to one purpose only and its too late to change them.
When Ceasar crossed the river Rubicon and posted his men in Italy (AGAINST the orders of the Senate) he had "crossed the Rubicon" and it has been used to mean a "dead end action" ever sense.

I did. I liked "Le Femme Nikita" better, though.
