When I have a very bad sore throat I have peppermint tea, soups with bread soaked in it, salt and vinegar chips (I know this sounds crazy but I let the chip soften in my mouth before I swallow - the salt seems to help me a lot) and drink lots of water. If you let yourself get dehydrated it hurts even more.

candies. i go through one or packs a day. the trick is to keep swallowing and swallowing. the candies cant be sour, cause it will irritate the throat. go for such that can last longer in the mouth, so that you dont end up eating too much of them and being sick. i love cassis-and-cream flavor. sometimes ice cream helps, but sometimes it makes things worse (like if you have caught a chill and it is giving you sore throat, then better forget about eating or drinking anyting cold). i hope your sister gets well soon.

Tylenol Cold. Or you'll gargle hot salt water. ITs gross however it fairly is helping. Take a seem within the replicate at your throat. Is there white spots all over the place wherein its purple? If so then that might be Strep Throat and the one solution to rid it's with antibiotics like Amoxicillin .

When you have a sore throat you should eat warm bland things that won't burn your throat. Soup is good and hot tea with honey and lemon. Don't eat ketchup or anything spicy it will make your throat burn more. Pick up some throat drops I used to like something like fruit breezers with menthol so it numbs your throat.

try gargling with 1/2 cup warm water with 1 tsp of salt mixed in. Yes it stings a bit, but I swear it will help. Had the urgent care dr. tell me this. Warm teas, soups with rice or soft noodles in them. Just stuff that is soft and easy to swallow.
