Why do Most American Born Americans think America is the best country in the world.?

I truly think they sound just arrogant and uninformed when they say that.
So does anyone else think AMerica is the Best COuntry in the World?

Same reason Japanese citizens think Japan is the best country, and French citizens think France is the best.....

I'll be the first to admit America has its fair share of problems, but I think 100% its the best deal out there. No other country has people doing anything and everything just to get in. America isn;t perfect, but I challenge you to show me a better country..

Why do most foreign-born naturalized US citizens think America is the best country in the world? I'd wager for probably a few more reasons than most American Born Americans do!! It's OK to love a winner! It's OK to be proud of where you're from!! It's OK to support the hometeam!!! And it's not ignorant to believe that the heart of the free world is the best country in the world!!! --although if you say it too much, that could be construed as arrogant...ah well. Call me SNOTTY! America's the Best Country in the World!

Why not, it's our opinion and I do think that this is the best in the world economically, militarily, the standard of living is like no other. "Arrogant"? Maybe I am, so what We are a Federal Republic. By the way citizens from other countries probably think that there country is the best. Their are not wrong because it's their opinion.

Because the schools and television shows and everything a child hears from the time they are born tells them that America is the best country in the world and that Americans are morally superior to all others. Not that America isn't a good place to live, but children (and the adults they become) are woefully ignorant of what life is like in other parts of the globe.

For the exact same reason people think their state is the best, they grow up exposed to the region, and become accostumed to it. Naturally, the familiarity makes it seem best when exposed to other regions.

I'm sure if you went to London, and asked someone on the street which country was the best, you'd get the UK/England as an answer.

Second, are you sure they said "best" and not "greatest"? To me, best implies victory, greatest implies opinion.

There were masses of immigrant who came together just months ago, do to the recent immigration debate. I'm sure many of those Not "American Born Americans" would tell you that america is great.

And finally i think its unfair to stereotype all americans as arrogant. Sure some are, but every country has somebody who is arrogant. And some people just love their country, they're not trying to brag.

I don't think there's anything wrong with having national pride.

I have much pride in my country, in which I live and was born. (Not the US by the way.)

Of course, exclusion of all else, with no knowledge or even desire to know any other cultures is uninformed and presumptuous.

Years ago (before the iron curtain collapses) there was a survey around the world..... the subject was...:
"Tell us your opinion how the lack of food will effect USA and the rest of the world?"

Finally the survey failed because:

In the former Soviet Union and its satellites couldn't understand the term...."tell us your opinion"
In Europe in general they couldn't understand the term..."lack"....
In Africa couldn't understand the term..."Food".....and
In USA.......couldn't understand the term.."The rest of the world"....

I wish them good luck.....some day they'll wake up.....and I wish it won't be too late..:)
