Hey Lestat fans! I've read [almost] every Anne Rice book (reading Blood Canticle currently) and was wondering what your favorites were?

My favorite would have to be The Witching Hour...I couldn't put it down!

Also, what do you think of the later Anne Rice books? I know a lot of people stop reading the Vampire Chronicles after the first few books. I did like the first few Vampire Chronicles better...but I still really enjoyed reading the later books.

Oooh, speaking of QotD...let's throw in a side question

What did you think about the movies (IWTV and QotD)? They both didn't follow the book that great (though IWTV did a better job) but I still find them both entertaining...maybe it's just me.

I've got to say The Vampire Lestat... Queen of the Damned is a close 2nd, and third is Servant of the Bones. The Vampire Lestat was so great at telling us the history behind Lestat... as you well know Anne Rice does an exceptional job developing her characters. I've read the Vampire Chronicles only through The Vampire Armand, but reread those several times, and every time it's better than the last.
As for the movies, Interview was an excellent movie which I enjoy, great cast too, but it glossed over too much. Really detracted from Lestat's role in the story, but it was a lot better than Queen of the Damned. I like QotD too, but they took way too many liberties and omitted far too much. They should have seperated the two into their own movies and could have included a lot more of the details we love about the books.

I loved "The Witching Hour". It was well written and mysterious enough to keep my attention throughout. I enjoyed the Vampire Chronicles, but didn't read them all, Lestat gave me a headache with his self importance, Louis with his guilt ridden immortal self, at least Claudia didn't have to live through all that for too horribly long. I found that the tales of the Mayfair witches were easier to keep up with and follow through, even to the "Blood Canticle". The movies were ok, Interview with a Vampire being far superior to Queen of the Damned in my opinion, even with Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise in the leads.

East of Eden. No, go out to Eden *snigger oops* I reported the action picture first. I understand many human beings hate Rosie, yet I nonetheless like her and this changed into decrease back earlier she got here out besides. no longer that that has some thing to do with it, yet ..... Anyhoo, I loved the action picture. Then I picked up the e book, which changed into extremely different - no longer a comedy or secret in any respect; only a sturdy erotic study. the sweetness sequence changed into sturdy too, even with the very incontrovertible certainty that I frankly lost pastime by using the 0.33.

I've read most of her books, and I think my favorite is Servant of the Bones. I liked Interview with the Vampire and Lasher as well.

More interestingly, which book(s) of hers did you not like? Mine was Violin.
