Everyone keeps saying that mermaids don't exist. Well, I would like to say this to everyone. There is a good chance mermaids are real, but the is also a good chance they aren't real. Either or, I think that it would be better if no one ever found one. I mean, think about it. If a mermaid was found, everything in books would have to be changed and every single drawing of a mermaid would have to be accurate to the real thing. So, this is for everyone who still believes in mermaids. Never stop believing, but don't let it take over your life.

Well it is believed that sailors dehydrated from long journeys at sea hallucinated and mistakenly thought of Dolphins, Manatees, and Seals as Mermaids. So yes they do exist in that nature.
I do agree with you though never stop believing in anything. If we knew everything that had existed we still wouldn't keep finding new animals that lived and ones that still live today.

All things are possible... But that does not mean that all thing will happen.... A mermaid is a very unique creature and its history is just as old as the history of man-kind... Now yes as most cases are some people will believe in mermaids and other will not... And the only thing that takes a beating is the truth of their existences.... And yes they are very really entities, And all the dis-belief in this world will not change one iota of their reality of their existences...... And when you can climb a mountain and crawl into a cave and find drawing that exceed 100,000 years old... And then boom there it is a drawing of a mermaid..... you start seeing a whole new side of mythology... And a couple of years later you finally get permission to go out with a deep sea European fishing fleet along with other scientist and and other explores... And you watch them cast their fishing net deeper then some submarine can dive and it takes a long time to bring those nets to the surface... And then you see a arm grasping the top of that net then you see two arms of something that is pulling itself up to the top of that net and you watch something as it full the rest of its body up and there is a large fish tail that goes up to a little longer then half of its body and it rolls over the top half of that fishing net and you watch its human half watching you and it dives slashing it fish like tail and diving back into the deapth of the ocean... You have to believe what you just witness as being real.. And then the fisher men tell you that something like that happens almost ever time that fleet goes out and they say that before they bring the nets in you can see several of them escapesing... You have to believe the tone of voice and the look in his eyes.. And no matter what else happens while you are out there you can never again believe that mermaids are just a figment of someones imagination, ever again for the rest of your natural life.....

I really dont believe but also believe there could be who knows???Spent 22+ years in the Navy 16 of witch was with the seals.. I spent alot of time in the water all over the world and never seen anything close..SORRY!!! Your friend in Tennessee...ROB

hahah uh... mermaids where created by lonely fisherman out on the water for months and months at a time.
What they saw was the dugong, an eastern relative of the manatee, who has a fish-like tail.

even though i like mermaids i know that they aren't real!! Every since i've seen the movie aquamarine i thought they were cool. but i no they aren't real!!
