Dr. Strange is Earth's sorcerer supreme. He's not only more adept at magic than anyone on this planet but can has won battles from the top tier of sorcerers from other plains. Loki is truely a powerful wizard and a god to boot, but he'd be dealing with the elite in magic. Dr. Strange wins.

Loki as a god wins as long as he doesn't mess it up. Seriously, Loki has bad mojo. But, if you use the Earth X series Loki where he is not a true god, then Dr. Strange. I think Dr. Strange is about as powerful as you can get without being a god or the Celestials or Galacticus or Nathan Richards.

My husband is the ultimate comic geek. I asked him and he said this:

"As much as I like Dr. Strange, I have to give it to Loki. Loki is a God and that is a whole other level of power."

Loki won that battle in one of the latter Thor (Volume 2) issues. He was in possession of the good Doctor's cloak and Eye of Agamotto.
