Hockey kills American football *** any day. when you get tackled in football most players are maybe 2 feet away from you that would not hurt sure if you fall the wrong way but that's it and there is a whistle like every 3 sec. Hockey you skate 20 times faster then a football player runs and when you get hit their is the boards you are going to hit also so that hurts to. and to anybody that think American football is tougher then Hockey never tried Hockey probably cant even f-inn skate. Hockey is none stop fast and high action compare to American football with 4 quarters and a stoppage of play every 3 seconds, and stoppage of play every 4 to 5 mins for a stupid commercial. to all you that put Hockey down just go try it i bet you will give up after the first day, and you know why cause you're not man enough to play a real man sport like hockey.

you put hockey down and you never even tried it and you put it down cause you cant skate what a joke..

and for the guy that said he played both, you probably didn't even play like travailing league AAA you probably played house league hockey were there is not contact. American football players couldn't even keep up with Hockey players. HOCKEY RULES!!!

This is a hard one. Hockey is more endurance related while in football you need resistance and power. Hockey you have a better chance of getting seriously hurt ( happens more often whether football fans want to believe it or not ), but in football you get pounded to the ground a lot. Football is once a week, hockey is usually 3+ games a week, and you travel ALL the time. That being said, I would have to say hockey just because of how much more grueling it is, and you get hit at what, 40+ miles an hour into a solid surface? Plus you have to constantly block 90 mph pucks. That being said, I think football is an EXTREMELY tough and dangerous sport, but under the circumstances hockey wins by a twinge. It may seem "finesse" to people who don't watch and understand it, but it's a lot tougher than it looks.

There's a lot less standing around in hockey, and a lot longer periods of endless play. To me football is boring, but I grew up watching hockey and think it's a very beautiful, if not brutal and very physical sport that requires a lot of skill and finesse.

i play high level of ice hockey. while there being more hits in football, the hits in a hockey game are at a much faster speed plus we land on a much harder surface. In hockey its an all out sprint for the 45-60 seconds that your on the ice, however in football a play lasts 10 seconds at most then these huge round men come to the bench and suck oxygen out of a tank! hockey is a much more demanding sport. id be glad to debate this with anyone. feel free to email.

In a way. It's also more graceful than football. It takes a lot of skill to be able to be that athletic on ice. And it's more beautiful to watch than football. There is nothing so pretty as the way blood spreads out on ice.

Football is a lot more physical. In hockey, the point of the defensive line isnt to stump the other player but to keep the players out of your zone. In football, defensive lines have to "kill" the QB by all means necessary.
