They look like dark ugly freckles. I figure they are age spots. What causes them and how do I get rid of them. I am african american and I see a lot of seniors with this problem.

You may have a skin disease, go to the dermatologist. Your dermatologist will be able to tell you what it is and steps you can take to even out your skin tone. It may be as easy as a moisturizer.

start by wearing sunscreen (everyday not only in summer), this will stop new age spots from appearing, in order to get rid of the age spots, hit the Body Shop to buy a special for that cream, also try some really good brand name (try Neutrogena, Loreal, Lancome), u need time to get rid of them...

(before that i think u should ask a dermatologist it they're age spots or not, they might be sth more serious)

Cheers

Those "age spots" are UV ray skin damage from sun exposure. It's a condition that is inherited in most family lines. You can see a dermatologist who can offer treatments to fade "age spots" and give useful advice on protecting your skin from the sun.

it could B age spots...where UR pigmentation is changing or it could B sun spots...a form of skin problem. Either way if U have a question about it & it bothers U then go to UR doctor to find out. If it is just age spots there R creams that U can use to lighten them. I have used Avon skin lightener & it's wonderful.
