Your hymen is rarely intact. It does not pop, it stretches. But yes, a tampon, or a finger, can stretch your hymen even more.
This is normal.
Edit:
And to add on to Chiky's answer...it is also normal to never put anything in your vagina. Few women have vaginal orgasms, and many women don't have intercourse at all!

no. don't worry about things like that. enjoy life and use tampons. remember to change them every 4-8 hours or you can really get sick. i don't see much of a problem in using tampons. only a guy can "pop your cherry", not a piece of cotton with plastic over it.

no, not really. But while you're young, stick to pads just because you don't need anything up there just yet in life. I waited and though it seems like no big deal, I'm really glad I did!
