Unless you have great mechanical skills, this is a project for an experienced mechanic. If you make the least little mistake in the top, it can leak, create wind noise and generally make you miserable. If you are an experienced mechanic, go to an online Porsche forum and ask for detailed advice there. There is no way the steps for replacing a convertible top can be spelled out here.

If you can afford the car, you should have someone that knows what they are doing install the top.

put one on a 61 vw once, it's not hard. but read the directions well before starting. label parts really good, then stretch and tack, put the trim on and there it is.

Probably out of your league. Lots of work, very tedious job, easy to screw up.
