Our neighbors, who recently had a baby with suspicious injuries, now have a sherrif sniffing around their house and asking who has phone #'s. Of course we had them, but said we didn't, even though we don't have any strong feelings for the neighbors. What would you do?

I would give him the numbers, especially if there is a child in potential danger there.

A child's safety takes priority over your neighbours' feelings.

small child in danger? Stand up for the innocent. Be discreet, call the officer at their work and leave them anonymously if you have too, but help the child.
That danger is as real to that child as it would be to yours. That is why you should stay anonymous.
The fact that you have no strong feelings for the neighbors is helpful when you think of how you are saving the baby.
It is better to let them check, and be sure, than to find out they killed their baby, and somebody asked you to help it not happen.

the police can get the phone # thru police channels as for the child the most important thing is its safety. perhaps become friends with them and you can see for yourself. if child is not safe call the cops
