Someone saw something in the fella but what it was is still a mystery, he has a nice touch but doesn't have the same space he is used to in spain and doesn't seem to be able to do his thing on the pitch at the pace the premiership is played.
I fear he may be yet another in a line of big money transfers that just don't settle either to the area or the pace of the English game..................still fingers crossed!

Not a Newcastle fan but yeah with the lack of options upfront at the moment and being fit gives him a fair shout at doing something for your club. Good Luck for the new season.

Yes he will, because Owen is out for most of the season and Ameobi is always in and out of surgery. He will be in if only to hold up the ball for the likes of Nzogbia and Emre to do their thing. Unless of course Newcastle gets a new striker soon.

it will all depend on Owen's fitness and injury concerns.
Also with the likes of Duff being added to the team, there would be a competition for a place, since both Damien Duff and Luque are lest footed, ands have a priority to play wing.
Shola Amoebi, has also risen up,and this is going to be a battle for starting places. It is good news for Newcastle though. they just have to hope that their major players stay injurry free.

I'd like to see him get a chance because he's a very good player, we just haven't seen the best of him yet. It may be that he's just taking a while to get used to the speed and aggression of British football. Who knows, maybe Luque, Ameobi and Duff might prove to be a good combination.

With the absence of Owen, luque should feature a lot at least early this season.

He has too, Owen injured, Shearer retired. They need another decent striker (not Chopra or Ameobi), they need Luque.

Do they have any other strikers besides he and Ameobi? He will have to play by default.
