My inspiration derives from my own personal experiences. It comes from the mundane to the extraordinary events I witness everyday. Therefore I will only be inspired if I choose to observe rather than ignore. Whether it's taking a photograph, writing, or cooking a meal, I am inspired by what I already know and am driven to know more.

I define inspiration as the driving force behind our wants and sometimes needs to accomplish or achieve a chosen path, goal or task whether it be simple or infinitely complex.

Inspiration comes in many forms. Sometimes it’s a relationship gone sour. That will almost always inspire poetry from me. Sometimes it’s nature: an incredible mountain vista- a shining lake, a blue winding river, glorious trees of autumn splendor, a pine-scented forest. A beach at sunset. Any kind of lovely sunrise or sunset. Hiking through the woods, so quiet and away from Man. All sorts of inspiration from that. Gazing at the stars. One splendid night I was at a beach in southern Calif. There was a full moon out. I stood facing the ocean and noticed something very peculiar about the waves: they were glowing. Literally, they were glowing fluorescent blue/green. It was quite breathtaking. Something in my foggy memory made me think of the time one of my teachers told me she went to the beach and saw that very same thing. Turns out, there was a red tide (discoloration of the sea caused by an outbreak of toxic red dinoflagellates) and the luminescence of the moon reflecting on the red tide makes it glow like that. Let me tell you, it is something I wish everyone could experience at least once in their lifetime.

Well, that’s enough from me right now.

I derive inspiration from things that move me, deep within. Things that lift up my spirit to places where only feeling and light can exhist. I am inspired by the happiness of others; by Love in all forms great and small; by masterful prayers, works of art, poems, or stories! So many things inspire me...even you, as you are.

How do I define inspiration? It is that thing which causes stirrings in my soul.

Ah, I asked a question just like this...

Well, my inspiration definition is something that pushes you create living breath...something so exquisite and fantastic or tragic and awful or mind-boggling and obtuse ... I find inspiration most often in concepts of change..(Bob Dylan type if you know what I mean) but also love is always inspiring. When it comes to fine art, I have a friend who always moves me by just existing. I think of him and draw or write.

Inspiration can be found anywhere and everywhere, from your next door neighbour to friends, classmates, religion, to listening to someone's story of survival, etc. How you define it is according to how you feel it, experience it and live it.

Children give me the inspiration to keep on trying to learn, keep on trying to improve, and keep on staying alive. Watch them. Their innocence and love of life and adventure are mesmerizing. Adults must not lose touch with all the nuances of childhood unless they want to grow old and be lonely because they lost their sense of humanity and their amazement in the miracles of living.
