There is no such divorce reason these days as adultery - everything comes under the heading of 'irretrievable breakdown of the marriage', regardless of WHY the marriage fell apart. Also, the divorce will take just as long - 6 months to get your decree nisi, then about another 6 months for your decree absolute. I do believe there is a way of getting a 'quickie' divorce, but you both have to want it, and there are specific reasons for being granted one. I'm not sure what these are, but adultery is not one of them. 'Quickies' are more likely to be granted if one of the couple is going away to live abroad, is one example, and therefore cannot wait the usual 12 months. Ask a solicitor who specialises in divorce. Good Luck!

In the UK adultery is not enough by itself - you have to say that you find it impossible to put up with your spouse's adultery. So you could admit to it but then your (soon to be) ex would have to divorce you.
I understand why you would want a quick divorce - I felt the same when me and my ex first split. But I quickly realised that as the marraige was over and the commitment gone it very quickly became insignificant and when two years later he served 'no blame' papers on me it was all water under the bridge and so easy, non argumentative and better for our sanity all-round. I was already living with my current partner by then and didn't feel 'married' at all.

There are steps you can take to actually build a strong, stable marriage and avoid divorce. Read here https://tr.im/NbBnb
Here are some key steps to apply to your marriage:
- Start by understanding and being informed.
You can never be too informed about tools, methods and studies about building successful marriages. Understand the risk factors like your age and maturity at marriage can determine how successful it will be, the anatomy of an affair and what you can do after infidelity. Understand the success factors like the personal and psychological circumstances that will influence your marriage, what are the tools and approaches available to you in dealing with conflict, and numerous other relevant data. All this information is readily available to you whether through self-help material, through a counselor, support group or other venues. In fact, we have made it our commitment to provide these to you in different formats to help you make the best marriage you can.
The thing is, remember, this is information is not available for you to begin hyper-psychoanalyzing your relationship, yourself and your partner. It's not a matter of spewing trivia for the sake of conversation ' information is there for you to ponder over and internalize to help you transform yourself and your marriage. That includes maturing to such a point that you become more competent in your knowledge but more prudent in approach.

Lying in a UK court is a criminal offence knows as Perjury. This carries some very stiff penalties if you are found out.
However, no one would be able to prove you were lying! Especially if you said it was a stranger you met in a pub/club and you had a knee-trembler in the alley with him.
Failing that - why lie? Get in touch and we'll ensure you commit adultery for real!

Most states now have no fault divorces meaning the judge doesnt care who wants it or why. So your reasoning wont get your divorce any quicker no matter what. Its God who youll have to face someday for the affair, and it wont be pretty

Do some research first. In some states adultery is a crime and you can not incriminate yourself according to the Fifth Amendment.

check with a solicitor but I'm pretty sure If you admit to adultory this only gives him grounds to divorce you (but not the other way around) and so he could refuse to divorce you and leave you with only the grounds you have now, but leave him with a very strong case against you. Be very careful!

I do not think so.
Adultery is maybe faster but your partner would need to put this forward about you, not you. No need to give the name in the UK.
If a divorce has to be messy (long), it will be, whatever the ground. But maybe you are right, statistically.

Won't help. You could screw the Dallas Cowboy cheerleading squad and it wouldn't speed things up. No fault divorce means the judge doesn't care.

Tsk!!!! Don't LIE! You're already getting a divorce. Can you say fraud, can you say deceit, can you say contempt of court? Just get a no contest divorce...don't lie.
