Changing back to Lipil may cause the gas to reoccur. The recommended way of changing formula is to give 1 bottle a day of the different formula and increase as tolerated. I prefer to mix. Add this many scoops of the original then 1 scoop of the new formula, steadily increase until you are using primarily the new formula. The ARA and DHA in the Lipil help with brain and eye development and is closest to whats found in breast milk. I've been using Enfamil AR Lipil for my son for 8 months. He suffered terribly while on Similac Advanced with diarrhea. Then he was diagnosed with reflux and that's why I use the AR. Enfamil may cost a little more but I want the absolute best for my son. I was never able to breast feed so I give him the second best. Best of luck.
I use Playtex bottles with drop in liners. I have never had to use Mylicon drops. I push all the air out, keep him at a 50% angle and burp twice. Worked for me. My son is almost 10 months old.

I switched my son from Enfamil to Target brand formula (they are the same and I asked my son's Dr. first). When we switched I used 3/4 of Enfamil formula and 1/4 Target formula for 3-4 days. Then I did 1/2 Enfamil and 1/2 Target for 3-4 days, then !/4 Enfamil and 3/4 Target for 3-4 days, then all Target. He adjusted perfectly and didn't reject it at all.
If you're open to using a generic formula I would check out the labels...the target brand is $12 cheaper per can than the Enfamil, and all formula is regulated by the FDA...it has standards and regulations to meet no matter what brand it is. I have never had a problem with the Target formula at all...not even clumping.
I hope I was able to help...good luck!!

If it were me I would be reluctant to swith because I would assume that it is the gentleease formula that keeps him from getting gas. I would be worried that switching might make the problem come back. If you want to switch I reccomend just doing it...and then watch for any problems....
Also, the doctors all agree that formula is formula and if you sat and looked at the ingredients you would see very little differences. (Allthough my first kid could not tolerate formula with added iron and I took her off without the doctors consent) Ive heard from other moms that nestle good start is the best but i never heard it from a doctor so you make the decision for your self...but keep in mind the nestle brand costs a little bit more.

Good Start rocks!
My first son had colic like you wouldn't believe, so after three different formulas, his pediatrician put him on Enfamil Nutramigen (about $25 for a 12 oz. can of powder versus $12 for a 12 oz. can of regular Enfamil). It did the trick, but my God it was expensive! At four months of age when he started eating cereal, his ped. said to switch him to Good Start cold turkey. We were skeptical considering the colicky, gassy, fussy, screaming fits he was prone to, but did it, and he was fine. My personal opinion is that we should have skipped all the other formulas we tried and just started him on Good Start.
My second son was on Similac (that's what the hospital had, so we gave it to him) and he too had colic. We then went to Similac Lactose Free and, when he was about 2 months old and the Lactose Free stuff didn't seem to be working, went to Good Start, and voila...happy, content baby. :)

i would just switch gradually. Ex. if he is getting 4 ounces total, then start with three of the gentleease and 1 of the lipil. do that for a day or two then increase to two and two. etc. but if he shows any signs of tummy trouble i would go back to the gentleease.

The good start formula is a GREAT formula for babies.I think for the most part that the enfamil formula dont have the benifits that enfamil has as far as replacing breast milk.

My son was on emfamil lipil for the first five months...but he had a hard time keeping it down...His doctor told me as long as he was gaining weight and not fussy he was fine..A friend of my suggested that I should try Good Start....so we slowly switched him over and now he barely ever throws up....I think it is an awesome fomula...I highly reccommend it!! But I dont think all babies are the same, you just need to try it with your little one, and see what happens...Good Luck

There are some baby bottles by the name of Avent. My wife and I were severely distraught about our little girl with her gas and spitting up after every and I mean every feeding. We tried different formulas with no success but then someone told us about the Avent bottles and the gas and spitting up (from getting to much air) stopped almost over night. It was a major blessing to us and my baby was able to finally eat and sleep comfortably.
Also you could try Mylicon drops. Best of luck!

You shouldn't really change his formulas. If this one is working you should stick to it for a minute. You don't want to mess up his digestive tract. Talk to your doctor too. My son had a terrible time going from breast milk (until 8 months) to formula. We switched him twice and once we found one that worked we stayed with it.
Talk to your doctor (the childs physician too). They may have some suggestions.
