1) It's spelled Aston Martin

2) The quality of materials and the amount of technology that go into building Aston Martins is incredibly expensive. Everything that goes into the car is high-end. The engine components are specifically built for high-performance applications and the car has features (such as custom-stitched leather upholstery, dynamic stability control and high-performance brakes) that are options or simply unavailable on production cars of lesser quality.

Add the high-performance technology, (more than a little hand-building!) and the available equipment to a limited production run and high demand, and you get the Aston's six-figure price. It may be worth it for a street-legal super car. The people I know who own one are certainly very happy with its performance.

Now if only they'd improve that blasted electro-hydraulic paddle shifter system of theirs...

I love Astons, but I'm a Jag girl at heart. :P

Astins have been around for years. You answered you own question. The car is man made. Do you realize how many days of work go into the hood and doors alone?

Must be a new company.....However Aston Martins are pretty expensive too. Of course their pretty rare so I think that's probably why.
